Terms of Use
Version 2, effective October 13, 2026
Upland Field Journal is owned by Peter Lolos, Baker City, Oregon ("we", "us"). By using the app you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy.
1. Using the app
- Personal use. Use the app for your own hunting records. Don't sell it, rent it or use it for a business.
- Your journal is yours. What you enter stays on your phone and belongs to you. We don't receive it.
- Not advice. Nothing in the app is guidance on hunting seasons, bag limits, regulations or land access. Following the law and getting permission to hunt is up to you.
2. Testing
While the app is tested through Apple's TestFlight:
- Keep it private. Please don't share details about unreleased features with people outside the test.
- Feedback. Ideas and suggestions you share may be used freely, without payment or credit.
- Stopping. You can stop testing at any time in TestFlight. Apple's TestFlight terms also apply.
3. Accounts
- Optional. You don't need an account to use the journal. Signing in with Apple is your choice. Some future features, like sharing with friends, will need one.
- Age. You must be 13 or older to create an account.
- One person. An account is for one person. Keep your Apple Account secure; you're responsible for what's done with your account.
- Usernames. A username is 3 to 30 letters, numbers, periods or underscores, and is unique. Capitals, periods and underscores don't make a different name. Some names are reserved. A username you give up may be taken by someone else.
- Display names. A display name is optional and doesn't need to be unique.
- Fair names. Don't pick a username or display name that pretends to be another person, a business, or us, or that is hateful, sexual, threatening or breaks the law.
- Names we may change. We may remove, change, reassign or restrict a username or display name at our discretion, for example when it impersonates someone or is a name we need to keep. If we clear your username, the app asks you to choose a new one the next time you open it.
- Ending an account. You can delete your account in the app at any time; your journal stays on your phone. We may suspend or delete an account that breaks these terms.
4. Ownership
We keep all rights to the app, its design, artwork and the name "Upland Field Journal". Open-source parts of the app are under their own licenses, listed in the app under Profile, About, Credits and licenses.
5. As is
The app may have bugs, may change and may stop working, and accounts or future features may change or end. Your journal lives only on your phone and is lost if you delete the app, so make backups and don't rely on it as your only record. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not responsible for lost data or other damages from using the app.
6. Changes and law
When these terms change in meaning, the version number goes up and the app asks you to agree again before you continue. Oregon law governs these terms. Questions: policy@uplandfieldjournal.com.
